Reina Sakao known as Madame Matcha from Montreal will be in Ottawa on Sept 15th to offer a Matcha workshop at Moo Shu Ice Cream & Kitchen!


Reina is a fourth generation member of a tea house family in Japan. In addition to importing a collection of tea to distribute to coffee shops, stores, restaurants and individual clients in Canada, she also offers Japanese tea ceremony as well as tea workshops.

Like chocolate, coffee, wine, etc... where matcha is grown affects its flavour. Come try 4 matchas that reflect 4 different prefectures in Japan and learn how terroir affects matcha. Purchase of matcha products is available after the workshop.

 

During this Matcha workshop, you will:

  • Learn about and taste 5 exclusive high-quality Matchas from 4 different regions: Mie, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Kagoshima prefecture
  • Learn how to properly make your own ceremonial matcha.
  • Enjoy matcha with Japanese traditional candy 'Wasanbon'
